SPCA to euthanize 'Charlie Brown'
The hard-luck case of an abused pit bull nicknamed "Charlie Brown" will come
to a sad end Thursday, Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals
officials said today.

The SPCA has decided to euthanize the dog because he has attacked two
employees and has been aggressive to both people and other animals.

"We just can't take the chance of trying to place him" in an adoptive home,
said Patricia Richards, SPCA executive director.

The dog was rescued two weeks ago, after he had been abandoned in a back
yard in Syracuse. He was emaciated, bruised, had a head covered with bite
wounds and his temperature was so low, it didn't register on a thermometer
for hours.
