"so-n-so of such-n-such turned in this lovely animal as it didn't match their new drapes" or "... would rather get rid of their family pet than discipline their child to NOT torment the pet". I would absolutely LOVE to see such a list published by the shelters! HIGH FIVE! That would be fabulous! Along with email addresses of said offenders. (Telephone numbers would be a bit much.) But really, these people are IDIOTS. You don't get pets to match the carpet. You don't throw away kids who wet the bed when they're 5 or 6. Won't use the litterbox? Maybe there's a physical reason? Why on earth would someone think to take a cat to the vet? Jill The local shelters around here have "do not let adopt" lists and have been known to share them. It's very quietly done and the general public doesn't know about it. I like it. Pam S. |

It's funny now, when you see Smokey passed out with a santa hat on his head...not so funny when he needed a home asap and various people are telling us he's not adoptable. Honestly, I think Nocturne is more of a eccentric, ideosyncratic, tyrannical handful than Smokey, who pretty much just wants a bite of sandwich, a couch to pass out on and a roof over his head. www.stuffonmycat.com The second book is out and is hilarious. It includes cats in glasses, wearing hats, masks, and costumes. I bet some of the pictures that Lori took would qualify as well. I'd love to see a jpeg with Smokey with a Santa hat on. Pam S. |
