Default Puurs for a lost dog

It's 11 at night here. There's a raging thunderstorm outside. It's Nathan's
birthday - the front door bell went as the parents of one of Nathan's mates
turned up to collect her son. It is *evil* out there. Cue one very wet, very
cold, very bewildered dog on my doorstep! The dog has a name tag on - with a
phone number. The area code is *Plymouth* - a couple of hundred miles from
here! I currently have one drying, warming, silent, traumatised old lady dog
lying on the floor of my office.

Purrs please??? *please*

Oh, the poor thing! I hope someone was visiting close by and she ran
off--not walked all that way from Plymouth!

Lots of purrs from our Master and Tail Wags from the furry servant of
the Master and prayers from Master's Meowmie.

Thanks Margaret - the poor thing is on the floor, exhausted, hardly moving, but
I've got her to take a bit of meat-based cat food - I don't have any dog food
in the house!

I've rung the number on the ID tag - answerphone... I've rung the police in
case someone is in the area on holiday and has reported losing thir dog - the
police round here leave an answerphone on.... I've rung the dog warden - he
doesn't work at night....

Looks like I've got an overnight visitor.

Cheers, helen s

It's a long way for a dog to blow in!

Loads of calming purrs for the poor old lady, I hope you find her owner
tomorrow.

*idea* The fact that she seemed to 'blow in' from Plymouth might be enough
of a story to get her on the local radio tomorrow. Give them a ring and ask
if they can help with publicity.
