Amended Clyde Experience
It seems that the Clyde episode was different to the saga I thought I
understood. Today I talked to Maurice the owner of the garage and woodshed. I guess I was so befuddled by Clyde's return that I got it wrong. It seems the woodshed had nothing to do with it!! Maurice went out in his car in the mid-afternoon and after loading up his car with stuff, shut the garage door behind him. We surmise that Clyde, following Burmese instincts that tell him just every place has to be thoroughly investigated, went into the garage and got shut in. Maurice came home at 10.30 p.m. and I saw him open the garage because I was wandering around the streetlooking for Clyde. Now wouldn't you figure that any cat with an ounce of common sense would tear out to freedom. After all the garage was open for some time with lights on as Maurice was unloading his equipment from the back. I guess Clyde was asleep and had no intention of disturbing himself. It was after I left Maurice's place after looking everywhere around his house that Maurice heard Clyde yelling. It was about 9.00 a.m. so he had been in there since 2.00 p,.m. the day before and must have been thirsty and hungry. So there it is, the accurate story of Clyde's escapade. I had to look for Kitty a few weeks ago, I was lucky enough to find her injured and she's now fine. It's hard to know where to look if your cat's missing. All we can do is our best. Tweed |
