Default Update on my friend whose house burned down

I posted a week or so ago about a friend of mine in TX who needed purrs
because her house had been destroyed by an arsonist. I've got an update
on her situation.

Her house *was* completely destroyed, and everything was lost. She did
not have homeowners insurance, as it's painfully expensive when you live
in the middle of nowhere. Fortunately an organization she does
volunteer work with has provided housing for her and her kids and their
cats.

She was afraid that they had lost all of their animals except the two
kittens they were able to grab. On later visits. though, they found (in
good health) the prairie dog she had been raising and all but one of
their kitties. The wolf and wolf-dog hybrid she had been raising were
both lost in the fire.

A local group got her a loaner computer, so she's in touch with the
outside world again. I'm working with another buddy of mine in TX to get
two networked PCs to her, so she'll have the resources to maybe get her
online business back online soon.

And the fire most definitely was an act of arson. Her electrical and
phone lines were cut before the fire was set, so the perpetrator clearly
intended for major destruction to occur. When a house is situated 15 to
20 miles from the nearest town with a fire department and gets it's
water from a well, those two acts pretty well guarantee that the fire
will burn for quite some time.

The bottom line is that she suffered a horrible loss, but it could have
been a lot worse, and they're all recovering from the loss as well as
can be expected. All of the purrs that you sent her way have been
working, and are greatly appreciated.

Thanks for the update. That is good news about the kitties & prairie dog, but
so sad about the ones she lost. Continued purrs for her. But what a terrible
setback for her. It is all so senseless. I truly believe in this case that
"what comes around, goes around". I hope they catch who did it.

Thank you for the update, Dan. So happy that more of the kitties were found
unharmed, but very sorry about the animals that perished. We are still
purring for this lady and her family.

Thanks for the update. I hope whoever did this to your friend is caught and
charged with attempted murder.
