A mystery solved
When Odessa was recovering in our computer room, she found a makeup brush in
one of my junk baskets and it became quite a favorite toy. She'd play with it for hours. then Louie and I started hiding it among the junks baskets and the Laundry, which Louie broguht upstairs to sort. He also had boxes where he keeps his socks, undershorts, suspenders etc and we used these, everyday trying to make the game more challenging. The night before she died, Odessa's brush just vanished, and we turned every basket, every box over and out looking for it. Now i swear I did look in everyting. We poked every corner. Not a bristle was found until lst night: Louie found the brush under a "keski," a small hair-covering which Sikh men generally put on before their turbans, and some orthodox ladies use for covering; and it was in the box of suspenders. I'd gone through the suspenders box twice, and Louie even more, because he's the one whose pants need bracing up. When the surprise was dissolved, I laughed. Odessa had gotten her revenge for us making it harder and harder for her to find her toy, by making us hunt for a week, the little... Blessed be, Baha I was talking to my son about this sort of thing. I was hunting for something last week. Went through my desk drawers -- even took out the drawers with no luck. I did this about three times. Then a few days later I found it right on top of my desk in plain sight. Now no one else had been in this house for over a week. I have called it my ghost who hides things. This is only one of many incidents. MLB |

Sometimes they take things and then put them back but they've forgotten where they got them from and put them back someplace else; sometimes they leave things for us that we've never seen before. I just figured it was this house. It's old, and haunted by several ghosts, and has lots of weird things happen. (On the good side, one of the weird things is that our animals live approximately forever. Belle (cat, RB) was nearly 22 when she passed, and Dixie (d*g, coonhound and yellow lab cross) was *18*, which is nearly unheard of for a beast of her size...she was about 90 pounds and not fat. I looked everywhere for it, but I finally had to cancel all my Debit/Credit cards. I was about to write to the government to cancel my SIN (Social Security) and Health Card when it turned up. I found it buried deep inside a pillow case one night when sleeping. I can only assume I had some kind of Zombie/sleep walking episode one night and got paranoid about my cash. OR it might have been a cat with a leather fetish? |
