I'm sorry
I "took the plunge" with Cotton as soon as Tiger went to the bridge. I suffered with no cat in the house for two days and it was awful. Cotton is a great cat and I have no regrets taking her in.

Ah, okay. I completely understand. Persia went to the bridge in August. I'm not ready to take the plunge, either. Whenever you can manage, I'm sure there are kitties out there who need you. I have no doubt there are! There are other issues going on right now, too, though. Jill |

I always have been, in the past - in fact I've usually had two, to keep each other company when I had a job to go to. Now I'm living in a senior retirement residence (and over eighty), I'd have to think twice about it. (Fortunately, Cendrillon doesn't seem to miss Melisande much - in fact she's become much more affectionate, and less afraid of visiting humans.) |

(Fortunately, Cendrillon doesn't seem to miss Melisande much - in fact she's become much more affectionate, and less afraid of visiting humans.) I think it's wonderful that Cendrillon is more affectionate. Of course I'm very sorry about Melisande. I never had a cat before Persia. She taught me a lot about cats very quickly! There was lots of comic relief and BCT's. She caused me to seek out information and read about cats. To talk about cats with friends, co-workers and neighbors. And to find a Usenet group where people talked about their cats. Persia was with me for 13 years. I was well owned. Persia's ashes are in an urn on a table by the front door. I walk by that table every day. I touch the urn when I'm going to bed and say goodnight to her. I think I've handled losing her pretty well. It certainly wasn't unexpected. I miss her terribly, yes. I'm not prostate with grief. I'm simply not ready to introduce a new cat personality into my life. Persia did a pretty darn good impression of being the perfect cat. Jill |

When Isis (RB) left us- Dave and me were determined to wait. She left on the Tuesday by Friday I was asking this woman at work who was feeding a stray with kittens if she hadn't found homes for two of them? We were catless for a month as they weren't old enough to leave their mum until then. Were we miserable? Yes! Lesley Slave of the Fabulous Furballs |

When my dear Leia went to the bridge, I was determined to not get another cat, at least until I got a job. Finn had other ideas, and was howling at me from underneath the car next to mine in a few days. He had been obviously tossed out of his home and was starving. What was I supposed to do? So he ruled my life for another 10 years, and I never regretted it. Jane |
