Default cotton

I visited the shelter today intending to look ar company for Cotton. The woman in charge said that Cotton had always been a lone cat and preferred it to be that way. She tthought that Cotton would be unhappy if she had to share me with another cat. I'm disappointed
but i don't want Cotton to be unhappy.

The decision is completely up to you, of course, Mike. But it almost
sounds to me like you're the one who wants another cat. You were used
to having two cats. I'm not saying there's a thing wrong with wanting
another cat.

Still, some cats *are* only cats. I know my cat Persia would not have
integrated well with another cat. She let me know she was unhappy just
seeing a cat anywhere near her domain. Reowrrrrr! She crashed through
a screen door to chase off a cat she saw on the patio. She didn't mean
to do it and was quite surprised to find herself outside... but that's
another story. My point is, some cats are only cats.

I once brought in a cat from pouring down rain, muddy, long orange and
white fur, matted and in tangles. I called him Spotty. I had to stash
the cat in the guest bathroom with a quick temporary litterbox, food and
water until I could take him to a rescue place.

It was quite a trick hiding him from Persia. I do think she knew he was
there. Her litter box was in the hallway right outside that bathroom.

I took Spotty to the House of Mews (Memphis, TN) where he was quickly
adopted.

Good luck with your decision. May it work out well for all of you.

Jill
