Default Fireworks no good for the little cat types.

It annoys me that I can't let Tibbs out on New Year's Eve. It actually
isn't raining out there (for a change) but I know that as midnight
approaches there'll be fireworks going off left right and centre. I
remember when fireworks only used to happen at Guy Fawkes night - it
seems that they get let off all the time now. Tibbs will have to
settle for his rug in front of the fire. Poor cat...

It's fairly mild and Boyfriend has been out and about several times today
for a couple of hours at a time.
He went out around 10 pm for 30 minutes or so and then returned.
When he heard the fireworks he asked to go up to his bedroom, he never does
this any other night.
Yes, this cat has his own bedroom and duvet.
He did not take any notice of fireworks when I had another cat who did not
care a jot about them, but now she is gone, he is not so brave.

I liked when I was younger and I don't mind the lights I just wish there was some way for them to be silent, at midight here it was like being in an air raid for 5 minutes- Sarsi went to the window to watch them but Bonnie was a little spooked until one the guests handed her some chicken that distracted her

Our lot were much more interested in a bowl of lactose-free milk than in
what was happening outside.

(OT - Lesley, do you know about Maggie Madigan, the survivor of the
Titanic? See http://www.mudcat.org/thread.cfm?threadid=71902 . Was
she a relative of yours?)

Possibly a very distant one- my great grandfather was from Limerick
(He was the 3rd of 4 husbands my great grandmother outlived- my mother
used to say she was a "character" with a disaproving sniff then follow
through with "And you're a ;lot like her".), which is where my surname
comes from. However "Madigan" is not such an uncommon surname in
Ireland- there's a famous bar called "Madigan's" in Dublin (There was
also a "Madigan's" bar in Pimlico many years ago I got a free drink
when I proved I was a Madigan)

My father said there was a Campin family crest - a cat sejant.
I've never seen anything with it on and I don't know where he
got the idea. He thought we came from Belgium or north-eastern
France, like the painter Robert Campin:

http://www.abcgallery.com/C/campin/campin.html
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Robert_Campin

but how you search Franco-Flemish heraldry I have no idea - there
is apparently a Norman-English family that spells it the same way,
but their crest is a dog's head.

It annoys me too that you used this group to spam.
You probably didn't get the result you wanted.
