Default HELP! Sitter needed for my two fur babies.

I am in a very bad situation here and need to get out of this house. I won't bore you
with all the details, but I will be going into a women's shelter for a short time until I
can find work and get settled again...no cats allowed... :-( What I need is someone to
take my two boys for that time. I''m hoping that it won't be any longer than 2 to 4
weeks, if all goes according to plan.

Brat (Siamese) was declawed on all 4 feet by his previous owner. Linus (Maine Coon) has
not been declawed. Both are neutered and both are well behaved. You can see them by
clicking on the link to my Yahoo album below.

I am looking for someone in Red Deer, Alberta, as that is where I will be moving from
here, and I would like to at least be able to visit with them. I will miss them terribly
and I'm certain that I won't be able to sleep without my bed companions, but as long as I
know I can get them home again, I will get by.

Is there anyone in Red Deer who would be willing to help me out here?....Please?

--
Hugs,
Lynn

Lynn, pleaase check with the Humane Societies in your area. At our H.S., we
provide care *for free* to any woman who is in your situation, as well as
elderly folks who go to the hospital. It's just a community service, and
something we believe is important. The H.S.'s in your area may offer the same.
The pets are kept as long as it takes for the woman to get a place of her own,
and owners are encouraged to come daily and feed/play with their pets.

Hi Sherry,

Thanks so much for your kind words in such a trying time. Please know that I am leaving
this time before the situation escalates into something much worse and that my
self-esteem is still intact. The only thing holding me here at this time is my babies.
Once they are safe, I will be fine.

Hi all...

It seems now that I need help as much as my kitty boys do. I have called all of the local
shelters in Alberta and no one can or will help me. It appears that there are many, many
men who are beating up on their wives, and the shelters are all full. How sad... :-(

The problem is that because I am in an emotionally rather than physically abusive
situation, I don't qualify for their help. I have to accuse my boyfriend of hitting me
when he hasn't, and have him charged. This is the Canadian Legislation on abuse. If I
don't lie to get help, then there is nothing out there for me. In the meantime, he goes
to jail for something he has not done. I couldn't live with myself if I made a false
accusation against him just to help myself.

I have been hit many times in past relationships and will never tolerate that again,
however, I find that the emotional abuse is much worse than anything I ever endured
physically. It leaves scars that will never heal. Bruises and broken bones get better in
time.

So, I guess what I'm saying now is that I too am looking for a room. If anyone in Alberta
has a room for my boys and I, for a short period of time, it would be greatly
appreciated. I have very little money (only enough to feed myself and my boys), but will
be looking for work as soon as I get settled someplace. I will happily pay room and board
and maybe even stay on, if things work out and we get along okay. We can help each other.

Hugs,
Lynn
