That's a good price but although I used to feed Boyfie on Felix (he likes
it) he is not allowed it any more. There's quite a lot of sugar in it and
given that there is no way I could clean his teeth, it's a no-no.
If I could ever be allowed to clean his teeth (Winnie could, with Rusty) I'd
take advantage of it but I can't - it even upsets him to have a spot on put
on his neck. He leaps off my lap when I have ruffled his neck fur for days
pretending I'm just being nice to get to his skin and then put the
Stronghold on.
Traitor, that's what I am :-(

I wish he knew it was for his own good, he will have no external and
internal parasites, including ear mites (Kitty got them once) and no worms.
It's better than Frontline as it wipes out everything.
I usually have to have someone to help me as he is very suspicious if
something is laid out nearby, like a little capsule and a pair of scissors
to take the top off of it..

There's some advert on the telly now for a spot on flea treatment and the
cat is shown not noticing it being applied.

I can tell you that the second I was able to fool Boyfie, well I didn't - he
smelled it on him and was up and out. He was well annoyed at my
untrustworthy meowmie stuff.

PLEASE, DON'T make such a statement WITHOUT a link showing at least
SOME evidence to back your claim.

NO search I've done has shown ANY added sugar in Felix cat food,
and NO complaints about it either.

In fact, on a cat site in the UK, it has 31 ratings,
all 3 out of 5 stars or better, NO 2 or 1 star ratings!

I would accept that you HEARD it had sugar, and believed it,
but NOT that you SAW it as an ingredient on a can or pouch of it.

I can see sugar in Felix every time I look at the pouch to examine the
ingredients, it says "various sugars", which is a pity because he really
likes Felix.
It's a really palatable(sp?) and good food but he is not allowed sugar in
his cat food.
His teeth are great and I intend for them to remain so.
I could of course allow him to eat all sorts of cr*p, cat treaties full of
Chinese rubbish, but I don't.

Do you have an interest in Felix brand or something? Why is this
such a big issue to you? Especially since you don't even live in the
UK?

When I got up this morning Bonnie was asleep on top of the boxes like she was doing guard duty over her treasure horde

I shall see if there's still an offer on Felix on Tuesday when I go back
to work.

I shall be that Stronghold traitor tomorrow but don't tell Sootie.

I prepare the Tube and lean it against some books in the bookshelf next to
window where I do the dastardly deed. Then when she puts her head down to
eat all those treats I strike. As you say Traitor.

There's some advert on the telly now for a spot on flea treatment and
the cat is shown not noticing it being applied.

As I'm at home tomorrow I shall do it and let her out to play, while I do
some work in the garden and she'll forget all about it.... of course she
will.....
Judith

Yeah, right.. Boyfie has not completely forgiven Simon for helping in the
process last time.
You'd think it would be easy - all you have to do is part their neck fur and
drip it on but Boyfie is well aware. I'm dreading getting him into his
carrier soon for his annual injections and check up.
The worst thing is that I have to invade his bedroom, his secret place where
he feels safe. The moment I go in there when he is asleep, he knows it's
bad news.

This weekend the Co-Op are doing a 44 pouch box of Felix cat food
for £8.99.

Which is still about double the price of catfood in tins.

Pouches are a ripoff.

I agree that pouches are more expensive but as I only have one cat now, I
like him to have that "just opened" experience. If I buy him a tin it has to
go in the fridge for the next meal and he doesn't like it quite as much.
If I had a few cats, I would buy tins but as I only have one now he gets
pouches. Yes, they are more expensive but he's worth every penny I spend on
him (including getting him neutered)

They're more expensive per feed certainly but the point is there's no wastage. Pouch goes down and is scarfed down by my two we have a house rule if the bowl is licked clean and they're still asking for more they get another one but no more than two a meal. When we had tinned food half the can would end up in the fridge where because their next meal was the same as the last one- noses would go up in the air when it was served. They like variety so in order to balance that using cans we'd need to have a couple open at the same time. Whereas with pouches they get more variety. It's also convenient for me (so I don't mind if it costs a bit extra), lighter to carry home and no open cans lurking in the fridge (I used those can ocvers but they didn't stop pungent cat food e.g. tuna or sardine stinking out the fridge) and I can control the portions better, which with Bonnie a cat whose first nickname was "The Gannet" is important to prevent chubiness creeping in. Also my cats enjoy their varied diet

!! two pouches per meal? Boyfriend would like to know your address so he
can move in.
He gets one in the morning, another at 3.45 (not a minute more) and a
sprinkle of dry at 10 pm. Vet is very happy with his weight.
I'm sure he'd like two pouches but meowmie says no.
Yes, they do cost more, no doubt about that, but as I only have the one cat,
I don't mind too much - if I had several cats I would use tins as they would
be used up every day.
Tins are much cheaper, I can get three meals from one tin but I prefer him
to have a pouch, fresh every time.
