Hooray for Mookie. He must have been watching reruns of Lassie alerting
everybody that little Timmy was in the well.

LOL - my thought exactly!

Mookie's a very smart kitty. After all, he's as smart as a collie, which
are very intelligent dogs.

I think kitties know what they're doing ;-) I take care of baby squirrels. I
have to feed them every three hours 24 hours a day so I get pretty tired. When
they're hungry, hurt or scared they let out a high pitched peeping sound like a
bird. I generally run to go see what's wrong. I had one baby that would peep
just to get me to run over there and pick her up. There was never anything
wrong. One night around 3 in the morning the baby peeps. I know it's the little
girl so I try to sleep. She peeps again, then I hear a meow, another peep,
another meow. Then the meow is getting closer and closer. Then the meow jumps
up on the bed. I look up and there is Mimi with the sleepiest eyes you've ever
seen meowing at me to go see what the baby wants. Then she went back to bed. I
of course had to get up and check on the baby who was fine. I need to teach
Mimi how to feed them ;-)

Panther was 16 & a half when she went to RB
friends used to laugh when we talked to each other
and if I asked her to kiss my nose, she would
she was beautiful Jean.P.

He's a wondermous boy. When my Kirby went to RB 3 years ago, all I
could do was cry. Old Mook would sit by me and stare with that
all-knowing look. He missed her too.

as you said, alittle Hero!

Yup. He's repaying the favor, as I've saved him on 3 different
occasions already. Now he's my shadow - my old shadow (he turned 16
this month), and I'm grateful for every day he's been in my life.

Wow. That is incredible patience.

Do the squirrels "imprint" on you? Do they end up worshipping you as
the Squirrel Goddess?

What is wrong with you, you terrible Mommy? LOL.

They certainly know when something is wrong.

What does your Mimi look like? My little Mimi (RB) was a tiny little
shrimp in a tuxedo-- or what it really looked like was a nun's habit.
We always used to say she was a tiny little nun.
She was the smallest cat with the biggest personality I've ever seen.

Single-mindedness is all very well in cows or baboons; in an animal
claiming to belong to the same species as Shakespeare it is simply disgraceful.
