It worked. As he tried to
appease Mookie, I screamed one last time, and in he came, with Mookie
bringing up the rear. The look on his face, I am certain, was one of
"My work here is done."

I think kitties know what they're doing ;-) I take care of baby squirrels. I
have to feed them every three hours 24 hours a day so I get pretty tired.

Wow. That is incredible patience.

Do the squirrels "imprint" on you? Do they end up worshipping you as
the Squirrel Goddess?

When
they're hungry, hurt or scared they let out a high pitched peeping sound like a
bird. I generally run to go see what's wrong. I had one baby that would peep
just to get me to run over there and pick her up. There was never anything
wrong. One night around 3 in the morning the baby peeps. I know it's the little
girl so I try to sleep. She peeps again, then I hear a meow, another peep,
another meow. Then the meow is getting closer and closer. Then the meow jumps
up on the bed. I look up and there is Mimi with the sleepiest eyes you've ever
seen meowing at me to go see what the baby wants.

What is wrong with you, you terrible Mommy? LOL.

Then she went back to bed. I
of course had to get up and check on the baby who was fine. I need to teach
Mimi how to feed them ;-)

They certainly know when something is wrong.

What does your Mimi look like? My little Mimi (RB) was a tiny little
shrimp in a tuxedo-- or what it really looked like was a nun's habit.
We always used to say she was a tiny little nun.
She was the smallest cat with the biggest personality I've ever seen.

Single-mindedness is all very well in cows or baboons; in an animal
claiming to belong to the same species as Shakespeare it is simply disgraceful.

Mimi is one of my favorite cats from the Internet. She is awesome as a
'mommy' cat to little orphans. Her best friend is Shirley the squirrel, who
is my second favorite animal from the internet.
Mary's stories about the 2 are hilarious. And, of course, Mimi is
world-famous for winning the Cat Fancy contest as best mommy cat.

Mimi is a most beautiful long-haired white cat with black spots, and a
black dipstick tail. Mary has posted amazing pictures of her romping
and babying squirrels, and Mimi has been featured in Cat Fancy as an
"ultimate mommy"!

I am awed. Where can I see a picture of this magnificent kitty?
