Default Post Boarding Agitation

Whew! Got back this weekend from a 7 day visit with family and I had
one upset kitty returned to me at the cat kennel. I don't know who did
what to whom but Oliver was very agitated for over 24 hours after we got
him home. He has boarded plenty of times and always returned home
slightly more affectionate but very much his usual calm self in the
past. This was a new place for us (we recently moved to a new city) and
I think I might look around some more. It was so heart breaking to see
him howling and acting scared. At one point I had him calmed down (I
was laying on the bed holding him which seemed to be the only thing that
worked) and he was finally deeply asleep so I snuck off the bed to go to
the bathroom. He woke up when I was in there and actually screamed and
puffed up and then ran into the bedroom and jumped into my arms. Poor boy!

He is much more his old self today but still getting plenty of love and
scritches from all of us.

I wonder if he was left in complete isolation? For a cat that is used
to people and lots of attention that could be alarming. MLB

I hope that isn't it! We based our selection on the fact that he was
supposed to get a lot of interaction and two play times each day but to
be honest that was my first thought, too. :-(

We did try them out for a couple of days before we did a long board and
he seemed fine but that was only for 48 hours.

Awww, glad he's returning to normal, finally. Wonder what happened
that had him so upset - we'll probably never know. Hopefully there's
an innocent explanation. Unfortunately, I can think of a couple things
that throw the girls off stride - nothing really seems to bother Rocky
for long. The carpet cleaners doing the apartment above me has left
Sammy spooked for a couple hours after they finish.
