Default Purrs for Killini and a challenge

First of all I want her to know we are still purring away. The lumps are
what they are for better or worse. But I'd be out of my mind trying not to
worry while waiting a week for the results. So purrs for peace and calm and
plenty of nice distractions.

Second, I am a bit overdue for a mammogram. Don't know if I didn't get the
reminder card or if I ignored it and forgot about it. I just couldn't deal
with anything else while I was getting my hearing dealt with. So its been
at least two years and maybe three. After all the discussion and after
reminding myself how fortunate I am to have full medical coverage and that
I'm a fool not to take advantage of it, I finally called and got an
appointment.

So, anyone else out there been putting this off? Lets get everyone current
of taking care of themselves OK?

Jo

Here in UK we are written to with an appointment for a mammogram "after a
certain age." I got called last year for my first one. It took me nearly
all day to get to the hospital that they sent me to and back home again on
public transport. This is the same hospital I have to get to for my hernia
appointment ;-(
I can't say it was a pleasant experience but I appreciate the need for it to
be done.
Do all you blokes on here realise that you can get breast cancer too? It
isn't just a woman thing.

A coworker discovered a lump on his breast about a year ago.
It happens that it can develop as a side effect of the
medication he is on, but the MD wanted a mammogram done just in
case. Of course, he has to go to the Women's Imaging Center.
As he waits his turn in the waiting room, all the ladies there
were giving him sidelong glances. One can only wonder what
they were thinking. The nurse said they get about one male
patient a month. In his case the lump was caused by his
medication and there was nothing to worry about.

Purrs for Killini continuing.

I just got my notice, and I'm going to try to get an appointment
before I lose my insurance. I got my first one last year finally
because of one reason: Melissa Etheridge. I'm going to do it again.

Not me. Breast cancer runs very strong in my family tree. I started my
mammograms at age 30. Had my first scare at age 40. I never miss a
year now.
