The only critter we don't appreciate is a troll.

Assdrian,

Your unsolicited email was not read but was marked as the junk/spam email
that it was. If you have something to say TRY to be a man and keep in the
newsgroups - i.e. the public forums that the message you were replying to
was in IF you can.

!!!!!What is this idiot on about? Adrian's post was perfectly a propos to
the thread in which it appeared. (The thread may be about a deceased pet
duck, not a cat, but one of the nicer thing about this newsgroup is the
variety of interests its posters have.)

Hang on a minute, rrb, if you have an issue with Adrian don't use my thread
about the death of Francis Drake to get even.
I was, and still am, upset about his unexpected quick death. It's nice of
you to say you hoped his death was peaceful, I hope so too. You might have
left out the bit about "I hope it wasn't painful" as we all worry about this
if we are not there and don't need it pointing out.

To add about him being dug up to be eaten by Adrian - well, you must be sick
and enjoy upsetting me more that I already am.

My lovely Muscovy duck has passed away unexpectedly.

When I went to put him away safely at night the other day he did not
race me in for his chopped apples and bits of bread which he loves. I had
to encourage him into his hut.
The following morning he was not keen to come out, but he did and
when I went to put him to bed he'd was already there.

I thought "if you haven't perked up in the morning, you're off to the
vet."
Too late. When I went to let him out next morning he was dead. I
have no idea why.

I'm upset about it. He was so nice, I was really fond of him. He
used to raise his crest to greet me and wag his tail and give a
little hiss which is the only thing he could say.

Damn, I miss him already.

Tweed

I'm sorry to hear that, I've always been fond of Muscovys.
--

I wondered if I should have taken him to the vet earlier in hindsight, but
really there were no symptoms except "he was not quite himself" for a day
which is not quite enough for a vet visit. I was totally shocked to find
him dead. He was only 4 years old and Muskies should live 10-12 years.
I didn't have a post mortem to see what he died of. It seemed pointless
after the last one on Edith the goose which was "inconclusive" and cost a
fortune/
I know exactly why Edith died - the vet ODed her on wormer. He gave her 2ml
and the correct dose for waterfowl is half a ml.
I never bothered to tell this young vet that he killed my goose - she died
showing the exact symptoms of overdose on wormer. I know it was his fault.
So when the post-mortem came back as inconclusive, I wasn't surprised.

I have the invoice here that states she was given 2 ml of wormer. That is
enough to kill her, and it did.

They owe me a new goose at the very least.
