Off on vacation, again
Hope everyone had a wonderful holiday and hoping that the new year brings all
kinds a great opportunities for all! Dust had a very fun Christmas morning. He got a fancy-pants sisal, sparkly catnip ball from his grammy and we gave him the crinkly, catnip filled, Velcro textured firefly. He played with the stuff all morning. Got a few pics. I can even brush him with the firefly, that's how Velcro-ee it is! LOL. He went from normal to goobed to darn right stoned. http://f1.pg.photos.yahoo.com/ph/leezzardzz/my_photos The Dust folder (there is also a pic of him hunting.... well torturing a gecko) We are leaving for a holiday trip tomorrow. Going where it's COLD, woo hoo! Snow and everything. Instead of having Grammy come by and feed and pill him once a day I decided to board Dusty at his vet. TED has 6 big, I call them "double-wide", cages that she uses for boarding cats. He has so much room I am bringing his blankie and favorite purple chenille pillow to put in the cage. Even though I have never boarded him before I feel better knowing he will be at TED's in case something happens. It's an all cat facility and it's open from 7am to 7pm. So there will always be people and noises around. They can make sure he gets his meds and TED can check his heartbeat and see how he is doing on a daily basis. They are so nice there. It's a free standing building and there is only one vet. It's her practice and building. Everytime I have been there have been at least 7 to 8 vet tech's milling around. They said I can call everyday if I want to see how he is doing. I, and my daughter (and DH even though he wouldn't admit it), of course will miss him to pieces. And since his health has been funky lately I have piece of mind having him there. I met the other office cat the last time I was in picking up Dusty's meds. His name is Bob. He is just beautiful. TED told me that someone had left him on her doorstep in a cage and he had a rubberband around his tail. His tail had not had circulation to it and had to be amputated. So now he has a bobbed tail, thus the name Bob. He owns the office just like Mavis the other office cat. They just go everywhere and anywhere they please. I received the pleasure of Bob's butt in my face while I tried to sign my credit card slip. Those two cats just rule the roost over there! Dusty's eye looks great. Just a teeny bit of cloudiness now left just at the top of the iris. He has plumped up quite a bit and is much, much more active. He is even sleeping with us on the bed again and we are honored. I know Dusty will be well cared for. We will be back on New Years Day so he will only be there 5 days. Hope everyone's kitty got just what they wanted for Catmas! Take care everyone and I hope I don't freeze my buttocks off to badly. TJ |
