Default Two kitties on your lap

Dot is the principal bedtime teddy-cat, and Buster is the principal
lap-cat, but they do sometimes switch roles, and sometimes they both
want to have the same role simultaneously. This is okay in bed, it's
pretty awkward having two cats on your lap.

When I do have two cats on my lap, I slouch down low in my seat so
that one of the cats can curl up in the "balcony" lap of my chest and
stomach. Neither cat thinks this arrangement is ideal, but they'll
usually settle down for a while. But sometimes they have little
arguments. For example, just now:

Dot: "You have the nosebleed seat."

Buster: "What do you mean by 'nosebleed'?"

*WHAP*

Buster: "Ow, my nose!"

Default Two kitties on your lap

My oldest has decided in the last 6 months that he likes to sleep on my
pillow "While I'm there sleeping to" I've taken to just giving him a pillow
above my head and I lay on another one. Occasionally I wake up and have 2
cats sleeping there. There never any fighting just me giving them heck for
trying to clean my hair while I'm sleeping.

It's really REALLY difficult to get pictures of a cat when it's
curling up and
being cute, when you live alone. Trust me, I've tried. Once I get up
to
get the camera, the moment is over. Heck, if I even have the camera
with
me (and who does?) and pull it out, the moment is over. Rita does all
manner of adorable things, like stretching out and sleeping between my
side and my arm while we're in bed, but it's impossible to get a
picture
of it.

*sigh*

I have two pillows and usually only get to use one. Then Jake still
objects if I move the one I'm using around to find the cool side or
get more comfortable, because it bumps his pillow.

I know this experience! Francesca will be meatloafing on me as I sit
in my reclining chair watching TV gettin' pettins, when Nina will
decide Mama's had her share of attention long enough. This is not at
all to Francesca's liking, as she reaches out and bats her own child
on the head with a definite "Get lost you brat!" message. A tussle
takes place, and either Francesca chases Nina away, or Nina chases
Francesca away, leaving my lap all empty and chilly.

Roxy does this to Smudge all the time. Smudge will be sleeping
peacefully on me, or maybe on a nice piece of real estate on the
back of the couch just above the heater, when Roxy will decide that
she wants it for herself, and she's more entitled to it than Smudge
is. So she'll just go right up to Smudge and thwack her on the head.
Smudge hisses and growls, but then runs off, which only encourages
Roxy to keep doing it. If I catch it early enough (ie, I see Roxy
eyeing Smudge in that certain way I now recognize), I chase her off
before she has a chance to behave in such an ill-mannered way.
