Good grief
I do realize that some cats are just piggish eaters. I've had some. Each of them was an ex-stray. I think they practiced "opportunistic eating"....kind of like, "I better wolf all this down right now, because I don't know when the next meal's coming." Cherokee would have eaten himself to death if we'd let him. Sherry That's Marble to a tee. He's a hog. I put it down to his feral birth. It's as if he's never entirely sure when he's going to get the next meal from, so he'd better make the most of whatever is about. He will literally bully Francis and Waffles out of the way, but generally Francis can hold his own - but I do have to feed Waffles in a different room. Marble seems to vaccuum up his own food in about ten seconds and then he will make a beeline for where another cat is eating & barge in. As I say, Francis can pretty much hold his own against the hog-one, but Waffles is tiny compared to Marble, so I have to make sure she gets enough. In the meantime, it's a constant battle with Marble to stop him becoming a fatboy as opposed to merely sturdy.. |

"wafflycat" wrote in message ... No, cat owner, it's not funny or clever that you've done this to your cat... http://www.ananova.com/news/story/sm...es.animaltales That's one fat cat. Two and a half stones is 35lbs for those who don't do English measures And to think I was worried that Boyfie was getting a bit fluffy at round about 8-lbs. I'd be ashamed if I let my cat get like that - unless there is a medical problem going on there, of course. Even so, I would have got it sorted before my cat got so huge. Cats do vary in size, I know, but the average weight of a moggie i.e. a cross bred domestic shorthair with unknown parentage (like my two) I would say is less than 10 lbs here in the UK unless they are very sedentary (sp) Kitty FC has always weighed around 4lbs. She is a very tiny cat, hardly bigger than a 4 month old kitten all her life. She had a bad start and a bad life until I got her. She makes up for her small size by being feisty. Boyfriend was lucky that KFC allowed him in her garden (she was out and about then) she never let *any cat* in her garden before. I think he might have died if she hadn't. He was a lost kitten, maybe 8 months old. He had no idea where he came from or where he was going and no clue how to hunt to save himself. So then she let him come into the house. She even encouraged him when he was too afraid to make that step into the house "look at me eating my food in here" I think she liked him ;-) Smooth move on her part. He now hunts for her. Although - he caught a young collared dove and ate it himself last week as KFC was upstairs, snoozing on the bed when he rushed it to her. g Tweed |

Oh, that poor thing. That poor, handicapped cat. IMO that's a case of animal neglect. Or abuse, whichever one fits; she should be ashamed to let him get into that condition. Sherry Ugh, that poor cat. It's no kindness to overfeed an animal that way. I feel so sorry for him! Melissa |

He doesn't know she's now in hospital fighting for her life. She was always his inspiration. Like a sort of momma cat she guided him towards this house and she never did this before. She would never allow anycat here, she must have known I would love him. Tweed |
