Abelard's Best Friend

He's so in love with Beatrice that watching them play together brings tears
to my eyes. With her, he's a young kitten again. They race madly around the
house chasing one another, playing hide-and-seek, wrestling, using the tiny
tents creatively and just generally making mayhem. Today they're at it so
hard that all the other cats (and me too) are staring in awe, but I can feel
all of them
wanting so badly to be able to go outside....

This morning I found a nest in the middle of the yard with a small broken
blue egg next to it in the grass. I suppose the storm last night make it
fall out of a tree. The egg was a fresh one, with some goo left inside. So
sad....
