Default OT - Email Through Thunderbird?

I may be forced to use Thunderbird rather than Outlook for email. I
already use Thunderbird for the newsgroup, but I've never used it for
email. Does anyone here have any experience with this or suggestions
for another, free, email software?

Thunderbird works better as an email client than it does as a news client.
It is quite easy to set up on comcast. All you need to do is fill in the
blanks in the set-up wizard.

Once Juno changed their interface software, I've used nothing but
T-bird for both email and news groups. It's been pretty reliable
for many years, and definitely easy to set up.

Great! I've never been thrilled with Outlook, but I'd never used
anything else. It's good to have some recommendations from users, thanks!

I've used T-bird for ages. I try others occasionally (eudora for
example, but even that's a long time ago), but I always come back to
T-bird - both for emails and for newsgroups.
I have four different email accounts here on T-bird, and one has the
choice to use one central inbox or use them all separately. I've always
preferred to use them separately, but why?? hmm... not sure.
I've also set the spam to go directly into the garbage, so I can just
look at the subject line and sender, without having to "touch" the
message before emptying the garbage bin.

I like it better for e-mail than for the NGs!

Its quite a bit different than OE in its setup and has some annoying
traits (which you've be used to if you use it for reading NGs),
otherwise its a good e-mail reader.
