2nd earthquake has hit Christchurch, N.Z

Say a prayer for the people of Christchurch who have just had another 6.3
earthquake which has caused more damage than the first one. There are
fatalities, two buses squashed, people trapped in buildings, and the lovely
cathedral which was miraculously undamaged in the first quake is now down.
Aftershocks are continuing and a level 3 emergency declared. Those people
have been through so much already and I am so sorry for them.

I can't imagine how awful it must be to see the world fall apart
around you like that. I hope everyone who is trapped is rescued
quickly and that there are no more injuries.

That's terrible! Sounds like a huge disaster. I hope the people who are
still trapped are rescued soon!

How far away are you from Christchurch, Bev? Did you feel anything?

I was in Christchurch less than a month ago--a beautiful area with wonderful
people. This is so sad. It's even more devastating than the September
earthquake. The September quake was greater magnitude, but without loss of
life. This time, there are substantial deaths and injuries and it looks
like far more physical damage. I'm having an angiogram this morning, but I
will check for updates when I'm "up and around" again.
