I don't know what further testing the oncologist said but he told my
brother he does not have lung cancer. Of course he fussed at him for
being a smoker and Scott is going to try to quit. Meanwhile, he'll
go back in 6 months for another check just to make sure. Thank you
all for the purrs!

Excellent news!!! So what is it?

Well see, at this point it's nothing. It's just that when he had that nasty
bout of bronchitis in February they did an x-ray which showed an
indeterminate spot in his lung. So they scheduled him for a CAT scan which
showed more indeterminate spots, so then they scheduled him for a PET scan
which was also inconclusive. Then they sent him to the oncologist. No
cancer, but if he doesn't quit smoking he could wind up with emphesema.

Thank goodness! I wish your brother good luck with quitting
smoking--not an easy thing to do by any account. Hopefully the scare
he just got will motivate him. But VERY glad to know it's not cancer
for now. =o)

That's great news, Jill. Purrs he will continue to be cancer-free and
be able to quit smoking (if he really, really wants to!).
