A Pine Cone Kissamouse
A Pine Cone Kissamouse
T’was the night before Kissamouse And all through the ship, No one was stirring, Not one little bit. The fat wench was snoring, But this was normal. The cats were all resting Their postures…quite formal. The Cap’n and his wench, Miss Chloe…quite lovely, Were sitting on the deck Watching the ocean…quite bubbly. The cats and the kits Were asleep in a cabin Dreaming of their hoomins And the treats they’d be grabbin’. The sea was quite peaceful, The cats were all quiet, Missing their hoomins And their holiday diet. When up from the sky A humming arose, It crested the waves And curled kitty toes. The hoomins stirred… Uneasy in sleep. The cats were all quiet. A promise to keep. The mothership was coming With instructions and treats. For all the kitties waiting Forgoing their sleep. They looked into the sky And saw something new A sleigh not a spaceship, With reindeer as crew. A red clad hoomin Who smelled of catnip Jumped down on the deck Making it rock…quite a bit. He talked to the kitties And gave them all snacks, gooshy food, and goodies, And gifts, from his sack. The cats were all happy They purred, quite loud To the guy in red pajamas And his reindeer, who bowed. “But what of our hoomins?” One kitten trilled. “We love and we miss them; They are our world.” “Then ghost yourselves home,” Laughed the pajama-clad man. “It’s Kissamouse eve, Ghost as fast as you can.” One by one the cats left The kittens left too. Only the Shirk cats stayed As Captain and crew. “Our Hoomins are here. And so are our eats. Thank you, dear hoomin, For the gifts and the treats.” The man nodded gravely, Wished the kitties all well And jumped into his sleigh Creating a swell. The cats heard him exclaim As he flew out of sight The Mothership’s on vacation. I’m your contact tonight. Season’s Greetings The Fat Wench, The Shirk Family, And The feline crew |
