I have heard of a cat that learned to open fridge doors and
oven doors. The owners had to keep the fridge closed with
those "bungee" cords...... even then the cat was seen
*twanging* the cord with a considering look on its face.

One of Richard's cats, Sweep (long since RB) learned how to operate the
sliding doors to a serving hatch by pushing her nose between them. So,
to keep her shut in (the doors went from lounge to kitchen) the handles
were tied together with a ribbon tied in a bow. She soon learned out
which bit of the ribbon to pull to get the bow to undo.

Rascal, Jim's cat that we're taking care of, has slipped into the spare
fridge, the freezer on top of it, the microwave oven, and the dish
washer. I think she has a death wish. Rob and the kids think she's
merely senile and think that the closed places are boxes to sleep in.
Needless to say, there is a sign on the fridge that says to check for
the cat before closing.
