Smudgie is Lost! But I Know Where She Is!!!!
what a great step forward. and even if she is in trap overnight, it will
give her a chance to calm down before you get back to her, Lee "Sharon & Smudgie" wrote in message news:2sNZn.138720$aS3.23608@hurricane... Here is a link to a site on recovering lost cats that's goes a little farther than most, taking into consideration your cat's personality. You've probably already seen it, but if not it has some good information and may be of use to you or someone else who has lost a cat. One thing I have done when I've had a lost pet is print up business card size posters to hand out to anyone I talked to. All they included were a picture or two of the pet, the heading LOST CAT, and my phone number. It's much easier to properly identify an animal if you have a picture at your fingertips. I've also used magnetic material and printed large size posters to put on my car. I didn't really expect these to help find the pet, more to explain to impatient drivers behind me why I was driving so slowly. Of course I would pull over and let others by, but hoped the signs would at least gain me some courtesy and well wishes. I believe you will find Smudgie soon. Karla Hi Everyone, I know where Smudgie is! We walked down to the woods again a bit later than normal and I stopped and spoke to a lady dog walker and gave her a leaflet and she said ....."I'm sure it's her I have seen her in the woods every night except Wednesday"! Apparently she hides in the shrubs, occasionally runs across her path but is very skinny We walked through calling her and then bumped into the lady again who said she had another proper look at the photo and she is positive it is her! My clever girl has found shelter in this heat, a plentiful supply of bugs and we have left lots of water bowls dotted around for her to find and a pile of food. We went back again around 10 with torches but could find no sign of her, perhaps she wanders off a bit when its darker and returns in the day? Now I am pretty sure she is there I will borrow another trap (so we have 2) and set them in the woods from late tomorrow afternoon. We can go back and check them every couple of hours and then will have to leave them set overnight but I think it's the only way we are going to catch her. Will update when I have more news. Maybe tomorrow ..... Sharon |

Maybe tomorrow ..... Sharon This is VERY good news, indeed! I don't know how big this woods area is, but now you know for certain where she has been hiding. I am positive you will find her, or she will be caught in your trap, very soon. If it were me, I would move both traps to the woods, since you have an absolutely positive sighting there. More purrs on the way....it's past midnight in England as I type this, so perhaps Smudgie is already in your trap, waiting for you to bring her home at last! Perhaps she wanders to the other end of the woods at night after the lady sees her at 9.30? I don't know what to think anymore. We are going to set the trap around 9pm when its cooler and starting to turn dark. Then we sit and wait ..... Sharon |
