Shamrock
Shamrock wasn't well week before last week. He had a temp of 104, was
vomiting and lethargic. Just not himself. Went to the vet and he had a multitude of tests and some fluids, along with a shot of antibiotic and anti-nausea med. Vet didn't want to do more until the test results came back. I had to go into surgery myself when the results were in and haven't been able to do anything since then, but he felt much better after getting the subq fluids. No out of the ordinary test results for any organs, but he had elevated antibodies for toxoplasmosis and coronavirus. I know many cats will have antibodies for coronavirus but the fact that he had a high fever with nausea is something to worry about it mutating to FIP since nothing else seemed to be the cause. I think right now the only thing I can do is have the tests for toxo and coronavirus antibodies repeated in another couple of weeks. I also have a pregnant niece so I've banned her and anyone who has a lot of contact with her from my house. -- ღ.¸¸.✫*¨`*✶ Cheryl |

Maybe he just came into contact with coronavirus and developed antibodies, but toxoplasmosis is a different thing. Worrying. How could he have contracted it? I hope nothing mutates to FIP. My thoughts are with you. Tweed |
