Default UPDATE: Mom in hospital

Well, it looks like a stroke, but not a major one. She is somewhat numb,
has a little bit of a slur, and no aphasia to speak of.

They say if she doesn't give them a hard time (grin), she may get to go
home next week.

My sister is keeping an eye on Lucy the cat, who seems slightly worried.

Hugs and Purrs,
Mark

This actually sounds like very good news, Mark. I've known a number of
people who had "mini-strokes" who definitely had aphasia but were otherwise
fine and recuperated quite well.

Do they know what may have caused it? A minor blockage? Pin-prick
anneurism? Sometimes they have no clue. The brain is a strange thing.

Purrs continuing for all of you (including Lucy the cat, of course).

I'm so glad they caught it early enough! The degree of severity of the
aftermath of a stroke is directly correlated to how quickly they can
diagnose and treat it.

Mega healing purrs are still coming for your mom. Please keep us updated on
her progress.

Hugs,

If she's retained her sense of humor, you know she'll be okay. I'm glad it
wasn't worse.

The news could be far more dire, so take heart in that.

With care, she could be hale and hearty, in good time.

Prithee, that this indeed comes to pass.

I can understand the comment about the hard time. Purrs that your mom
accepts things and goes home soonest.
