Default Carpet cleaners/steamers?

Anybody have opinions about carpet cleaners/steamers? Apparently the
two leading brands are Bissell and Hoover. I'm thinking of one in the
less than $200 range, but whatever.

Kiki's health has improved tremendously in the 10 years she's been
here, but still has respiratory/lung problems. Currently using a 3M
Filtrete Ultra air filter. Of course I vacuum, but I would like to
clean the carpet too. May as well.

The Hoover models say they use heat but I haven't found any
description of how, except for the user adding hot tap water. Seems
to me like that would cause slight anxiety, trying to get the job
done before the water cools.

Thank you.

The Bissell machine has a heater in it so you fill it with hot tap water and
it keeps it warm until you are done. There is no need to hurry when
scrubbing. We bought one at Christmas and it works like a dream. If I
remember it cost us about 150.00 at Walmart on sale.
