Default CVMA FIGHTS FOR THE RIGHT TO MUTILATE

From The Paw Project:

The CVMA has scheduled a press conference for tomorrow, March 6,
2005=A0at 10 am at Laurel Pet Hospital in West Hollywood=A0 (7970 Santa
Monica Blvd., 323-654-7060, at Laurel Canyon and Santa Monica Blvds.) to
announce their suit against West Hollywood's ban against declawing.
=A0
Why the California Veterinary Medical Association wants to spend its
time challenging the will of the 37,000 citizens of West Hollywood when
it could be working to end pet overpopulation or other serious issues is
as puzzling as it is disturbing.=A0
=A0
CVMA's British brethren, the Royal College of Veterinary Surgeons, calls
declawing "mutilation."=A0 Declawing is considered unethical by almost
all the veterinarians in the rest of the world.
=A0
It would be a shame if protestors spoiled their nice press conference.

"Concerning all acts of initiative (and creation), there is one
elementary truth the ignorance of which kills countless ideas and
splendid plans: that the moment one definitely commits oneself, then
providence moves too. A whole stream of events issues from the decision,
raising in one's favor all manner of unforeseen incidents, meetings and
material assistance, which no man could have dreamt would have come his
way."

- W.H. Murray
