Two Lost Cats
Apparently there are now two stray cats in my complex that have seemingly
been alone for a while. One is a Calico and the other is a long haired black cat. The management approached me about helping these two cats but I am limited on funds but they have allowed me to start a fund raising/donation drive to help these cats. A collection jar is being posted in the complex office so I can get these two cats to a vet and hopefully get them checked out. What bothers me is how people can just let these two cats go to fend for themselves. One of the complex people is worried because we have kids in this complex and they were not sure that the kids would harm these felines. Has anyone else here had neighbors and such contribute to helping cats they didn't know? As far as these two cats go, I have yet to see them but offered to chip in the first couple of dollars to help these cats. -- Panther TEK: Staying On Top Of All Your Computer Needs! www.members.cox.net/catprotector/panthertek Cat Galaxy: All Cats, All The Time! www.catgalaxymedia.com |

Well I believe people have been feeding them but I don't believe from what I
have heard that someone has taken them and adopted them. Apparently we get a lot of excuses around here as to why nobody is willing to take them in. -- Panther TEK: Staying On Top Of All Your Computer Needs! www.members.cox.net/catprotector/panthertek Cat Galaxy: All Cats, All The Time! www.catgalaxymedia.com "Adam Helberg" wrote in message news:UNvAb.2282 I live in an apartment complex with lots of cats and every once in while a cat becomes abandoned. Is one of them the declawed cat you mentioned earlier that was roaming your neighborhood? I just don't see how raising money is going to tend to the immediate need, which is to trap/catch the cats and get them off the streets. Unless the calico is neutered, she's going to be having kittens. What about the no-kill shelter you speak of? Can they take the cats if someone traps them? Sherry Yes, why don't you trap them and take them to a no-kill shelter? Better than wandering around. One of the volunteers at the shelter I am with frequents the area apartments looking for strays. He talks to the management to find out if people have abandoned cats, and he traps them and fosters them if we don't immediately have room in the shelter. People can really suck sometimes. They think hey, we're moving, just dump the cat. It will take care of itself. You are worried about why people just let these cats fend for themselves? Well, isn't that what you are doing? Most people do not know a whole lot about cat rescue, and are not going to bring two unknown stray cats into their house. What if they already have cats? You are sitting there not really doing anything, and I'm not saying it is your responsibility. But it's not the other complex residents' responsiblity, either. If everyone is so concerned about these cats, someone should take the initiative to contact a rescue oraganization and get some help with trapping and getting these cats to a safe place. -- -Kelly kelly at farringtons dot net Check out www.snittens.com |
