Default The Mini-Monsters are now Angels!

We needed some behavior modification here and it turned out that it was the
people who needed it!

The quilt on our bed, hand made by mom and aunt, is protected from kitty
fur, dirt and "stuff" by a large sheet over it reaching the floor. The
kittens would pounce out in full attack mode from under the bed at the vauge
shadows that were my bare feet walking by inflicting serious damage. We
changed the covering for one that no longer reaches the floor. No more
pouncing on passing feet.

We clipped the kittens claws. We expected the experience would not be
pleasant for them or us but they were both little orange angels. No
scratches when they occasionally swipe us.

When I read in bed I would try to pet them and for the most part get
scratched and bitten for my efforts. Then I realized that if they were
lying against me, their back against my side I could pet them and we both
enjoyed the experience. If they were facing me, their paws/claws free they
would strike as I reached out to pat them. David and I determined that they
need more maturity to know what is play time and what is petting time, so,
I'll only pet them when they are in a position where they will not strike
out thinking they are at play.

It has definately been a much more pleasant time around here the past four
days.

Hope to get pictures up before they are Senior Citizen Cats!!

I taught Caliban to stop biting and scratching too hard by just ignoring
him whenever he did those things. I'd just stop petting him and
sometimes even turn my back on him for a while. When they realise the
nice pettins stop, they will stop biting and/or scratching.

I hope so too! Looking forward to them.

Silly bitties. Don't you wish they would stay this age forever?
Glad they like their toys I sent them G
Maybe that will help with the destruction..HA!! Unlikely.
