Weather is my fault
Sigh... Dulce Mae is upset with me over the sub-freezing wet and icy weather. I tell her it is way too yucky out for a pretty princesss, and she demands that I make it stop. At least she is lying on the newspaper, and close at hand for admiring skritches, so I'm not in too much trouble. Hugs and Purrs, Mark -- Proof of Sanity Forged Upon Request |

I was at first blamed by all 7 owners for the cold snow and wind but now they have settled into the idea that it's OK to stay in the house by the heater. In fact I have a pile of cats next to me which includes Eli, Tommy, Beatrice, Baby Eyes and Abelard. I guess Billy & Lily are snuggled together in the other room. |

I think what she was thinking was "When it is cold you turn the thing on that makes it not cold. So surely you can make it not so hot?" Lesley Slave of the Fabulous Furballs |

Hugs and Purrs, Mark I still chuckle everytime I think about what Frank must think about bad weather/rain. He used to beg to go out, then I'd open the door--he'd sniff and back up. Then he'd run to the *back* door and act quite disgusted that it was raining in that "out" also. Sherry |

I get the same story from my cats. It's to cold for them to go onto the
enclosed porch and they think I can fix it. He seems to like to go in and out quite often when the doors are shut. It seems to be a "must check round my territory" thing. He is appalled if he asks to go out of the back door (both cats normally exit through this door) and finds out it's pouring with rain. He will then change his mind. Two minutes later he will present himself at the front door and ask for out to see if it's nicer out of that door ;-) Aww, you should see his face when he discovers it's raining out there too. He stares up into my face and meows. He thinks I can fix everything. As Kitty only stirs from her beanbag beside the fire during bad weather a) when it's mealtime b) when she is bursting to go to the toilet it doesn't affect her too much. As for b) if it proves to be raining she has been known to come straight back inside and disappear behind the woodburner.. sigh Tweed |

As I've mentioned before, John D. Macdonald, in his book about his pets, "The House Guests," tells the story of one of his cats who actually pulled off the trick one day in Florida. He describes the smug look the cat gave him when it turned out that it actually wasn't raining outside the second door. -- Wayne M (indulged by Will and Heidi) |
