Yes, we're fine-- we're on the opposite side of the island (west side
of Tokyo). We felt the quake and a couple of aftershocks as very
small tremors. However, I have some friends up there and we can't
contact them even by cell phone because the electricity is off. It's
a little scary!

Thanks for asking! And you all can purr for the poor people whose
houses have been destroyed-- the news photos look really awful.

I thought of you when I saw the news, but knowing where you were I was
pretty sure you were safe. Purrs for the seven people reported dead. Thank
Bast it wasn't anything like the Kobe quake.
