Default Chester got out!

Darn it all! After I kept Chester in all Halloween night, my son came home
from trick or treating and stood in the doorway for an extended period of
time. This gave Chester the opportunity to slip out into the cold dark
night. He's been gone for a couple of hours now and I hope he gets cold and
hungry ASAP and comes home. Grrrrrrr.

OT - at midnight last night, my backyard motion light went off. I got up to
look and saw a very plump raccoon scouting the house. I never get over
seeing raccoons here, particularly since I know that it will be -30 for
periods during the winter. I'm glad he's so fat now since he's going to
need it shortly.

Oooo. How maddening. I've never figured out why kids don't get "don't
stand there with the door open". My nephews STILL don't get it.

Sam was so intent about telling me, at the top of his lungs, about his
halloween trip that he was oblivious. Childhood enthusiasm :-)

Chester trotted back happily about half an hour ago - purring and happy as
usual. Grrrrrr..

Does anyone else watch tv shows and yell at the screen 'Don't leave the
door open! You'll let the cat out!'

I wish I could teach Otis (London) about the winter. He's allowed in
the garden as can't escape. I get home from work about 9pm and it's
cold at night now. He stands at the back door in his "lemme out" mode,
I can't put a cat flap in cos it's a glass door. So I open the door,
telling him it's cold and rainy and he won't like it, but does he
listen? Does he beep. He stands half in half out so I can't shut the
door with him in or out, and I'm standing there freezing, waiting for
him to make his mind up - which usually takes 5 minutes or a gust of
wind, grrr. And then he wants to go out later to attack the intruder
(which is the next door neighbour putting a light on, or the reflection
of my computer screen thru the window) - daft nellie!

So glad he's home. You can't be mad at him when he's so pleased with
himself, right?
