Care Credit
I have no affiliation with Care Credit at all, but in case some of you
haven't heard of it, I thought I'd post the info here. I've used it several times when Hobbes had procedures that I couldn't afford to pay for all at once. I opened a Care Credit card which enabled me to charge various procedures and pay them off with *no interest* in 3, 6, 12 or 18 months depending on the amount charged. The more you charge, of course, the longer you have to pay it off. It's been a godsend! It takes such a load off as far as how I will pay for his treatments. I always know I can use it and then pay it off incrementally. The best part is with no interest. (I sound like an ad, but I can assure you, I'm not.) Hope this helps someone! |

I heard a story on NPR yesterday that was about Care Credit using predatory lending practices, not adhering to their agreements, paying endorsements to providers that encourage the use of CareCredit, and threatening people that were not aware of what they had signed up for. http://www.npr.org/templates/story/s...ryId=101837436 I listened carefully because I had just picked up an application at the vet's office a couple of weeks ago. It's basically a credit card that you can only use in a few places. If you have a credit card, you would not need it. Be very careful before you sign up for something like this. |

I've had no problems whatsoever had have used this for a few years now. A credit card is different in that if you pay it off completely each month, that's fine, but if you have a $2K balance, you get charged interest if it takes you two months to pay the balance. I've never had spam or calls or any problems with Care Credit. |
