here *do* recognize that something is very wrong with our health care
system. I've seen it posted here many times.

I agree with Tweed's comments about declawing too, but I'm sure she
doesn't think that any of our regular American posters think that's OK.
It's just a fact that it is still legal here.

(But while I'm on the subject, may I take a moment to give a cheer for
West Hollywood, California - the first city in the country to pass an
ordinance against cat-declawing - whee! Those Limousine Liberals are at
it again. )

This comment:

"Just one more proof (along with lack of universal health care) that the
U.S. is not nearly so "civilized" as it likes to pretend!"

was posted by someone who constantly bashes certain groups. The problem
is you can't single out one or two things and consider an entire society
based on them. You could just as well assume europeans are animals based
on their proclivity for attacking each other at sporting events. And
when it comes to gov sponsored medicine, while I agree we have a health-
care mess in the US it does not look like the gov-med countries are doing
much better as witnessed to things posted in this very forum. In the end
the tone of this comment said more than the content. I wont touch on the
anti-male garbage this same person posts because I have in the past and
not too many people seem to care. And BTW: most americans I know never
pretend to be civilized. To me "civilized" is a code word for P.C.

I am not even going to get involved in this. If I do I know I will be
kill filed again by a few people

Aw Matthew, go for it! It doesn't hurt to be "plonked"! ;

Hugs,

Nope I promised the group I would behave to maintain the peace. I plan on
doing that. I just made amends with a few and I truly do value everyone
friendships.

But I will say being PC is far from civilized it just means you have to
lie and be happy about it which is something I will not do the truth
hurts it is time to go back to bed ;-)

I know this isn't a confrontational group, but I do think we should be able
to speak our minds (so to speak - pun intended) without being censored for
it. It *is* possible to say what you think and do it politely - that
shouldn't cause anybody to want to killfile you. In fact I've always
bragged that this is the only newsgroup where people could discuss politics
without getting into a flamewar over it (although with changing membership,
the dynamics may have changed a bit).

Hugs,

CatNipped

I wouldn't have seen this Troll's reply if *you* hadn't replied to him!
Please stop with the all drama and either killfile them or ignore them.

I guess I'm in everybody's KF by now
drat! I feel like I can't do anything right, gall durnit
Nobody would KF 'you' Gramby, you are too much beloved here.
I, on the other hand am just an annoying newbie,
who is learning slowly, how NOT to be annoying.

"Granby" I would have though by now everyone had added to their kilfile
list. As I
said earlier, even after a specific warning from Matthew, the troll won
this round. If you accidentally respond to something like that, to post
again about it for any reason, even to apologize is "feeding". Yeah I
know I just added a few calories to their diet by saying this.

Kyla,

I don't think there's a need to reply to *everyone* that you're kf'ling
trolls by putting them in your 'litterbox'. For those of us who have done
so as well, all you're doing is showing us a post that we'd rather not
see.

I see that now. sorry...

I hope you understand.

I do and I appreciated your e-mail
Thank you

Default Barry Manilow

Yikes!! Well, let a 'male' try and have a baby..
they wouldn't be able to take the pain. When I had my first (of 2)
daughters
back in 1967, I was in labor for 15 hours before they decided to do a
C-Section, a nurse came in with very long fingernails and did a erm 'rectal'
I was so out of it that I bit her 3 times, and later on, when she brought
my newborn, Jennifer in, her nails were clipped, her arm was bandaged, and
she gave me a major apology
I told her I was sorry I bit her.
Kyla

"Granby"
Yowie, here is one for the books. A young woman in Indiana is suing her
Doctor because he didn't tell her labor would be so painful! Heard the
case was thrown out and the judge said something like "Young woman, when
you try to get something the size of a basketball through a space the size
of a golfball, what do you not understand would be painful about that?"

Default declaw or not to declaw??

"Sherry"

I know how you feel. I used to really get offended by that stuff too.
I just wanted
to scream "I am a nice person. I don't declaw, I recycle, and I
haven't destroyed
one single rainforest."
shrug I guess I finally just got used to that big paintbrush. I
don't think it's ever intended to be taken personally.
But I usually take everything
personally. :-(

Sherry

Yeah, Sherry, I know how you feel.
I usually take everything personally too.
But I'm working on it.
IDK if I'm in your KF or not, but hey, I agree with you, with what you said
above, we recycle, I'm a nice person, who just can't seem to do anything
right!
Can I offer you a
Hug?

Default paper plates declaw or not to declaw?

bastXXXette

The paper plate thing doesn't bother me from the point of view of
being "not classy enough" or too casual, not Martha Stewart enough,
etc. I don't give a damn about that.

Gah, I loathe MS

I do care about it from an environmental point of view. Seems pretty
wasteful to me. Not that I'm perfect on this score myself, but that
doesn't mean I can't have an opinion.

Joyce

I feed my cats on paper (not styrofoam) plates because
I don't have enough 'real' plates to feed them on.
I guess I could go to a Dollar store and get them some real plates.
Next time I go there, I will.
