I set out the Sherpa (cat carrier) bag
At some point soon I'll need to take Buffy to the vet for a checkup.
When I brought her home she was so confused she immediately hid under the bed. I put the carrier out of sight so she might come out from under the bed sooner. She did. I just took the carrier out from its hiding place. She went and sniffed at it. She even almost ventured into it! Good! I don't want some big drama or vomiting when I take her to the vet. http://i60.tinypic.com/2nq855c.jpg Buffy was actually very good about getting into it once her caregiver and I tricked her with a bit of gooshy food. She cried for a little while on the way home but then she stopped. I kept talking to her soothingly and she relaxed. Persia (RB) used to get so upset about being in the carrier she'd vomit. I am hoping by getting Buffy used to the carrier being around it won't be such a scary thing. We don't take our pets to vets to hurt them. Jill |

When I took Boyfie to be neutered, he cried all the way back and I was worried in case he was in pain so I speeded up to get him home. But actually, he didn't notice his neutering much and his complaint was about being in the car in a box. He licked his ex testicles for 12 hours and after that he was out hunting little rats again. He doesn't need to worry about the girls and be out and about fighting other boys about them. Although he does fight about his house and his meowmie. Nocat is allowed near his house or meowmie. Otherwise he says "you are one dead cat" It's a worry. He's too old to be fighting. He disagrees. He lik Persia (RB) used to get so upset about being in the carrier she'd vomit. So, I suggest that you place a lot of washable toweling or other padding (not just the padding that comes with the Sherpa) in the carrier. The other two cats do not urinate, but they do cry all the way to the vets. They are quiet on the way home. Just like many other cats, they are hard to put in the carrier before leaving to see TED. All of them seem to grow extra legs at that time. However, once we are at the vets, we have to close the carrier because all of them seem to be desperate to get back into it. MaryL |
