trying to catch stray kittens
Hi,
I noticed last week some kittens venturing from the crawlspace under my apartment. I put out a squirrel trap with tuna for a day but didn't catch anything. In fact, I found the big white cat sniffing it but not even trying to go in (he probably wouldn't fit). I just saw the kittens following the mother(s) around tonight (they seem to take shifts in taking care of the kittens)... and I put sardines in there (with a little trail leading past the trigger). Since nothing has happened for a few hours now, I don't think it will work. What do I do when too many street-smart mamas are teaching kittens how to survive? Also, how often should I change the food in the trap? (No, I don't plan on keeping the trap open unless I'm home). Thanks, Gail |
