Default How can I make my cat more comfortable?

Hi,

My cat had a corneal ulcer (now healed) and has a sequestrum (becoming
thinner) this year. Last week he started sneezing and, although the
vet hasn't committed herself to a diagnosis, I'm assuming that the
most likely reason for this is FHV.

He's on a short course of antibiotics and we are already giving him
lysine and interferon for his eye problems. His was last vaccinated in
October 2003.

At the moment he's looking a bit pathetic. Sneezing, snuffly and his
eyes look sore. He's still eating and drinking fortunately.

I'd really like to know what else I can do to make this and future
episodes more comfortable. He has a comfy warm place to lie and I use
a humidifer. What about herbal remedies? Saline drops? I've read a
little about these things online but I'm not sure what to do. I feel
helpless just letting this run its course.

thanks for reading,
D

Thanks for the reply. I'm in the UK and I've managed to find a
local(ish) holistic vet who I may consult in the future.

My cat is now feeling and looking a lot better.
