Default Onyx & RPCC - Shahna RB

Hi everyone,

Shahna Princess/The Brat Scott, 'wink-wink' to Onyx, passed away
quietly this morning, June 26, 2009, at the age of 16. She was born
in June, but not knowing which exact date, we chose to celebrate her
purrday on the 30th, now we will be celebrating her life.

As you know, I haven't been around much in the past two years, just
posting the monthly purrday list. Much sadness has happened,
including the deaths of my mother-in-law and my own father, both last
year.

Now, it's my precious little 'baby' - Shahna. Her death is the hardest
for me to handle. Don't get me wrong, I loved my dad and we were
extremely close but he was 85. I think most here in this community
will understand how I feel about losing a special kitty.

It was an honor to have been chosen by Shahna to care and love her. I
was visiting my sister-in-law (SiL) 15 years ago, almost to the day,
and Shahna came out and wrapped herself around me. My SiL said that
was very unusual because Shahna did not like people and never
approached anyone. My SiL gave her to us because she was planning to
take Shahna to the pound in a few days anyway. So, Shahna choose me.

Sorry for rambling, but you know how it is.

My little boy, Shadow, is only 8 but the vet doesn't expect him to
live that much longer, a few months at best (and that was in April).
He has a weak heart and fluid buildup; at one point they drained 300cc
from his body cavity. We've been giving him meds and he seems to be
hanging in there.

My Shahna is gone. It hurts and I can no longer see the monitor
through the tears.

Bye for now,

Evelyn

You gave her a wonderful life and she will always be grateful. She is
gone to the Rainbow Bridge or on an adventure we cannot even imagine.
You may well know her presence again and she will greet you joyfully
when you do.

We are so very sorry. It is so hard to cope when one of our loved ones
must leave. Even knowing that Shahna is now in a better place doesn't
help to deal with the hurt.

We send our purrs for your broken heart, and for Shadow to stay with you
for a good while yet.

We know EXACTLY how you feel. We love our people but there is something
different about our furry friends. Something that really touches the soul.
We should feel this was about people but life and choices often make that
impossible.

Purrs and prayers for your family. Many purrs for Shadow that he doesn't
have to suffer a lot until it is his time to go to the bridge.
