Default My cat keeps getting beaten up.

I have a 10 year old tortoiseshell cat who is very small. I also have 2
great big monster tom cats living 2 doors down from me. My cat is well
loved and respected in our family however she cannot leave the house in
fear for her life. These tom cats take it in turns to sit outside her
cat flap and as soon as she pokes her head out they have her. This has
been going on for 2 years now and im getting quite fed up that my cat
cant even sit outside her own house in the sun or even nip out for a
wee without being attaced. My partner and I have done everything we can
to scare these toms away. (without harming one of them.) What are we to
do for our cats right to go outside? Moving house is not an option.

Thats a shame. As Karen has said , I would have a word with the
neighbours and explain the situation and ask if they can keep their
cats in at certain times. I would close the cat flap for now , and
escort your cat out and stay with her in the garden. Get a litter
tray for her if you don't already have one.
If you want to scare the cats away , you'd have to fix up something
that works when you are not there and they don't connect it with you ,
something like a motion sensor water sprinkler to deter them.
If there any way you can fence the garden to keep the cats out ?

Get one of those aerosol powered air horns they use at football games. When the
toms are out there, put the trumpet of the horn out the flap and give it a
blast. A few of those and I'll bet the tom's behaviour will be modified.

Kitty Karate school?

Is there an attraction just outside the cat door .... ie, a food dish or
trash receptacles??

Do you have a back yard? Is there any way you could create a small
enclosure (possibly attached to a window or a porch)? There are a number of
sites on the Internet that describe enclosures and fencing that can keep
cats *out* as well as *in.*

Here are some pictures that illustrate home-built enclosures. I also have a
number of links to sites that enclose back yards. Let me know if you want
that type of information. Your cat will be much safer if you are able to
come up with some way to contain your cat and also keep others out.

Why not just keep your cat inside? Or, you could build an outdoor
enclosure for her like Mary suggested.

When I saw the phrase "even nip out for a wee" I knew not to even
make this suggestion. Very cute phrase, too.
