Just to let my friends here know that I have taken my Facebook page
down. I wanted to mention this just so nobody would think they were "un-friended." Also some friendly advice: if anyone ever sends you a greeting card that looks like it might have originated on Facebook, don't open it! It wreaked all kinds of havoc on my computer. I loved keeping up with family/friends, and viewing photos, but I just got so irritated at how Facebook allows any kind of hacker to advertise on their pages. My SIL, having no idea what she was getting into, clicked on one of those "Send a Free Greeting Card!" ads, completely innocent of the fact that it was loaded with spyware, adware AND changes your search engine and home page. Long explanation which would definitely be better served by someone more computer literate than me, but long story short, I took the page down in a fit of pique while trying to get the computer back the way it WAS. Sherry You should NEVER click anything that comes in your email. Also, why didn't your anti-spyware or anti-virusware catch it? |

Oh yes those pesky greeting card! My elderly mother became very fond
- too fond - afraid of opening your mailbox fond - of the animated musical ones she could create on several different websites - all horribly infected, of course. We were trying to figure out the best way to tell her to stop - techie tak wouldn't work. We all lucked out when a relative called my mom and told her she insulted that mom couldn't even take the time to send her a "real" bithday card. I mean, c'mon, how was she supposed to display in her mantel. That was that. While I think she could have been let down easier, sometimes fate steps in and does the dirty work for you...
