then google for an IP finder. This one is obscure enough some will say
they
can't find it, but two different ones come up Monaco. I don't think he

trolling either.

I know how to find out where an IP resolves to; I just didn't know where

to
find it in the headers using OE. I've used samspade.org before to look

up
IP's. Justin suggested looking at the NNTP posting host. I noticed some
posts have that, some don't. For example, yours and mine don't, it looks
like you are posting through Individual.net too.
Can someone look at my post and see what IP from which I am posting?
Sorry to sound like an idiot, but everyone (on this group and others)

talks
about what IP people are posting from and I didn't know how to see it.

It looks like yours is hidden. It may be something individual.net does
to protect customers?

It does. So does teranews.

I know this will seem dumb, but I can't figure out how to see the IP of a
message using OE. When I look at my own messages, it shows that I'm

posting
through uni-berlin.de, because I'm using Individual.Net. But, my Internet
access is from Comcast in Massachusetts. I can't see where it shows that
I'm in even in the US.

Your news server masks your IP address. Mine does too.
Some do, some don't. If you look at the properties of my
post you will see that you cannot see my Bellsouth IP either.

That said, it is easy to change one's IP address for
Usenet posts. All you need is a hex editor and some
simple instructions.
