I've heard privately from someone else in this newsgroup
(rec.pets.cats.anecdotes) and have apologized to them for
crossposting. Further, I think a group apology is required, so
this is it. Sorry. My only reason is that I have an aversion to
persons - especially trolls - who attempt to disconcert readers
of cat newsgroups for their own warped pleasure, and was
expressing my aversion of them to those readers.

We always welcome a chance to share recipes! ; (Other groups
trimmed from this message - YAY I remembered this time!!!)

Hugs,

CatNipped

I see you took the opportunity to snipe on my sarcasm about
recipes. My intent wasn't to put down trollbques. Not in the
least. I like em, and have read some recipes I'd never see
elsewhere, and laughed at what probably confused the troll being
torched. My point was that some of you enjoy a good flamefest as
much as the groups you profess to dislike and it was even more
evident when a reg crossposted a flame. I admire Bobcat for the
apology and IMO it should have been left at that but you just
can't resist posting a subtle jab at my expense. I think honesty
is refreshing, in this group in particular. [the rest is not for
you Catnipped] Some of you may have noticed I don't post anymore,
most of you are probably glad or don't care one way or the other.
I've been reading, we've been sending silent purrs for those in
need, and smiled over the happy news, but I've also seen attitude
that I've never witnessed in this group before. Maybe because I've
only posted for 2 years, and maybe there was more of this before,
but the side-stepping flaming surprises me. Maybe my own attitude
has changed, but I dare any of you to imagine having a
life-changing tragedy that doesn't bring you out of it on the
other side the same person you were before. I've always liked this
group. I'm sad to have to leave it, but most of you don't treat me
the same anymore, or even seem to care about me. I never thought
I'd think that about you. Thank you for the past, and the cards,
and being with me when I needed you then.

Cheryl may not read this because she's unsubscribed, which is
unfortunate. I just want to say that CatNipped contacted me privately,
and in subsequent exchanges I found this person (I'm keeping gender to
myself as newsgroups are read by some strange people) to be
sympathetic and understanding about my gaffe in crossposting re the
troll - a person who typifies what's best about the RPCA crowd. Every
newsgroup has it's own persona, and as I think I told CatNipped,
contrary to what Cheryl said about you people, judging by what I've
read by you I find a remarkable camaraderie and sensitivity among you.
But that's natural in any group of ailurophiles!

I don't understand this post at all. Maybe I'm naive or have
missed something in the translation, but have never noticed that we,
as a group, were anything but caring. Of course, we felt sincere
sympathy for her tragic loss, and still do. I haven't seen any
negative remarks directed toward Cheryl and don't quite understand how
she wants to be "treated." During the nearly seven years I've been
with the group, there have been ups and downs but few major
consequences - John Biltz comes to mind - and it's still the best
possible group on the net. I sincerely hope Cheryl will find peace
and a large measure of contentment in her life.

Cheryl - please don't leave the group!
FWIW, I don't post much anymore due to severe lack of time, but I always
read people's posts, and everyone is noticed and purrs sent to when
needed. I've been in this group, and its predecessor rec.pets.cats since
1996, and it's nearly a completely different set of people than it was
back then, but no less fun and caring - in fact probably more so. Yes,
it can feel cliquey and easy to feel excluded, especially if you aren't
a prolific poster, but nobody is forgotten, especially when they have
shared such real and personal things with the group as you have.
Anyway, just my 2 p's worth...

I'm sorry, perhaps I haven't been in this group long enough to pick up
some subtleties, but for the life of me I couldn't see any sniping in
the message.
Can I just point out that this is something that trolls *LOVE*-- to
set members of groups against each other. Please don't let them win.
