With apologies to our American friends, but... YEE HAAAA!!! Deb (in London) -- http://www.scientific-art.com ======================================= I was surprised I really thought Paris would get it. It would have been nice if the US had gotten it, but we've had them quite a bit since the 70's. Suz&Spicey |

Deb (in London) "He looked a fierce and quarrelsome cat, but claw he never would; He only bit the ones he loved, because they tasted good." S. Greenfield Any apologies to the French?.... me niether. ;-) politics mode I'm an admitted Johnny-come-lately supporter of the UK bid. Having been in Paris, I knew how good they are at putting on major international sporting stuff. They *know* how to do it brilliantly. What changed my mind, however, is the way a certain Jacques Chirac, on losing the French referendum on the EU constituion tried to make out that it's the fault of the Brits that everying is going wrong in Europe... and then his appalling comments of the last few days (which included an appalling comment about Finland ( and you can imagine how Waffles felt about that ;-) ) well, for once I forgive BLiar if he is looking smug when he greets Chriac at the G8 summit today ;-) As for the French and the Parisians in particular, I have genuine sympathy. /politics mode Normal service is now resumed :-) Cheers, helen s |
