Default My little girl is sick :-(

As if we didn't have enough to deal with right now, I noticed our only
little girl-cat, Princess Merlyn (well -- *she* thinks she's royalty,
anyway) started a weird hack-cough sort of thing Wednesday, and by
Thursday night, she had almost completely lost her voice. Took her
into TED yesterday, and she has a fever. He isn't 100% sure, but
thinks she may have bronchitis. He said it's rare in cats, but it
does happen (and laryngitis, too). So she's on Clavamox, and I have a
nice scratch to prove it!

Any purrs for Merlyn's recovery appreciated.

Bronchitis and asthma in cats is often caused by second hand smoke.
Second hand smoke has also now been shown to markedly increase the risk
of cats developing lymphoma. You have recently posted that you do smoke
in the house and this would be a good incentive for you to try again to
stop smoking as it adversely affects a cat's tiny little lungs. If you
aren't that concerned about your own health, at least have the
compassion to consider your cats and don't force them to inhale a toxic
substance. You're already seeing the results.

material assistance, which no man could have dreamt would have come his
way."

Lots and lots of purrs and prayers for the little Princess. We hope her
cough goes away soon. Hang in there.
