At least that's what one of my doctors said- the silly question was
"What are you getting your cats for Christmas?"

The difference between a cat person and a non-cat person is I didn't
think it was silly at all (DaNip for Dunzi, a couple of toys for Sarsi
and some ham being the answer) but he did

Sounds like a perfectly sensible question to me. :-)

Indeed it is- what are you getting Baggy and Shadow?

Rita got Hannuka toys from her Auntie Helen. With Feathers, cause
Auntie Helen knows that she loves feathers.

I figure that they don't know the actual date, so my plan is to get
those great stockings full of fake mice from Petco for half-off on
Sunday.

Not a silly question at all! Quite sensible if you ask me. Who wants a
doctor who doesn't like cats?

Persia is getting Fancy Feast that day.

He's the sweetest loveliest guy apart from the cat thing- I won't hear
a word against him (Not after the payment for doing his private
letters all year arrived this morning- it well and truly pays for Xmas
around here!)

I had the opposite experience with a doctor once. We were sitting in her
office (the exam part was over, and we were discussing her recommendations,
etc), and somehow the subject of cats came up. This seems to happen in a
lot of conversations involving me. Next thing I knew she had whipped
her wallet out of her purse and was bringing out snapshots to show me of
her furry owners. How funny is that? Whose doctor shows them cat pictures?

A former colleague of mine kept his cats' pictures in his wallet.
When he was called at home at night because of problems at work,
he complained that his cats got woken up.
Another colleague kept a framed photo of her cats by her computer.
She didn't have kids then. Don't know whether she still kept her
cat photo by her computer after her baby was born.

Much as I love my Rusty (RB). I never had his pic in my wallet or
at my desk at work. I don't think Rusty woke up at night when I
was called at night to resolve work problems.
