Default 5 month old kitten suddenly dies

on 2/1/05, my five month old kitten suddenly at 700 am started to shake and
fell on its side and then suddenly died. It was instantly. i was very
shocked. i know he did not have food in its mouth. it was playing around
right before this happened with the other kitten. any ideas what could
have happened. the kitten was 5 mnonths old and was bigger than a normal 5
month old kitten would be. no problems before this happened.
thanks for your help

chris

How terrible and very sad. Especially as he was so very young.

It's could have been anything that caused it and without the cat equivalent
of a post mortem you will never know.

It is likely that he had a condition that perhaps you would never have been
able to prevent - possibly a heart problem? It can only be guessed at.

The only comfort perhaps is that he lived his short life to the full and was
very much loved. No cat could ask for more.

regards
sarah

I am so sorry for you kitten,
If you can afford it why not do a necoropsy (I know that is spelled wrong,
sorry)it is the best way to put your mind at rest, but take comfort in
knowing what a wonderful life you had given this little one.
Candles will be lit this evening for safe passage to the RB and purrs to
you and the little ones play mate.
