Default Chloe: happy old age

Our Chloe is getting old and frail. We've got her on medication
for an overactive thyroid, but there seems to be something else
the vet hasn't found - not good about using the litter tray any
more. Maybe a very slow growing diffuse bowel cancer.

But. She's been a timid wee thing for most of her life - probably
raised in a kitten mill. For years she didn't really perceive people
as other creatures and just interacted with our feet, as if that was
the biggest non-feline entity she wanted to believe in. And she was
suffering for a long time with dental problems before we got that
diagnosed and sorted out. And now she's the happiest she's ever
been. She is always snuggled up with somebody - if it isn't Ollie
or Marblecake it'll be me or Marion. She's taken to stretching out
on my chest and purring herself to sleep, something she never did
before. She puts me to bed every night by tasting my fingers and
says good morning with a huge rumbling purr at point blank range.
Still bounces around and plays with toys a bit.

I didn't expect her to ever get this close. I don't suppose she'll
be with us for much longer but I'm going to miss her terribly.
